There’s excitement brewing, everywhere. You may not see it yet, but if you tune into your heart, you will certainly feel it. Things are lining up, however there is still some shaking, clearing and shifting going on in our inner and outer world.
Even though it may not feel like it, there is much more happening than we realize. Internal shifting is being facilitated by many happenings this month. In fact, it’s been difficult for me to get this newsletter and my classes together lately. As I look a bit more closely as to why this is, the pieces fall into place…
Shake ups & Clean outs
Feeling zoned out, unproductive lately? You can thank Mercury Retrograde.
Retrogrades are planetary backward movements that helps us reevaluate the goals we have set and fine tune them. This is a time of going within, to recognize what no longer fits, then letting it go. Mercury retrogrades are a type of internal house cleaning. This forces us to slow down and tend to the past or outdated beliefs and issues that is creating barriers to the goals we wish for now. We can feel out of sorts or try to move full speed ahead, but realize….we’ve jumped the track and are spinning our wheels.
We are still within the effects of Mercury’s retrograde in the sign of Aquarius since January 21, which is ending February 11. Aquarius represents innovation, and rebellion towards old and repressive themes. Hence, during this retrograde period, anything that prevents your emerging, expansive and forward moving ideals is being triggered. Your internal barriers are coming front and center so you can let them go.
Jupiter’s Retrograde in Leo began December 8, 2014 and ends April 8, 2015. Jupiter represents expansion, and Leo is leadership. This means that all forms of leadership are in the process of transforming the old ways before expansion resumes.
This is also a universal 1 month, which naturally beacons forward movement. However, this is also a good time to recognize that success not only involves moving ahead, but it also requires internal tending, discernment, focus and steadiness.
The Lion and The Lamb
Chinese New Year ~ the Year of the Wood Sheep
This year, a hero emerges….the lamb. The lamb or sheep represents our ability to stand tough against harsh elements, push forward and scale heights in search of our innermost Truth.
The lamb or sheep are family oriented and rooted within a caring environment. The element of wood fortifies the sheep’s connection to earth and the strength possessed by both community and environment. The sheep also reminds us to slow down, nourish our senses and foster steady commitment to what really matters.
This is a year when the goals we’ve been working toward in previous years can finally take root and grow within this steady, strong and tenacious environment of the Sheep. Anything can happen, as the meek not only inherit the earth, but lead by example.

As leadership qualities move through the fires of transformation, and the strength of the sheep emerges, perhaps this is the year when opposites recognize the true value the other holds. As we tune into the loving tendencies of Valentine’s day, we can infuse loves power and purity into the formation of our goals, foundations and our unfolding destines. Love not only purifies, it also unites.
